Jersey Mike's Day of Giving

Me and the girls-out to lunch
Today was Jersey Mike's Day of Giving and 100% of the proceeds went to one of my favorite charities, Military Missions in Action. They support homeless vets in the triangle area and their families. It's a great organization. And the food at Jersey Mike's was also great. I look SO fat in this picture. Maybe we should taken it BEFORE I ate that gigantic grilled veggie wrap. The camera does add 10 pounds and there were 5 cameras on me at the time. Also pictured are some of my coworkers, who shall remain nameless since they haven't signed a release to let me use their real names on line. For now, lets just call them Tabatha, Lynn, Molly and Sharon.

March Madness in Japan

Maika says "Go Tarheels!"
Maika in a more traditional outfit.
Let's see, how is this kid related to me? She is my first cousin's granddaughter. That makes her something like my 3rd cousin twice removed on my mother's side....whatever. She is adorable. Look at that little round face. She looks like a Japanese doll.  I sent the UNC cheerleader dress to Japan when she was born and she is just now able to wear it. I hope my next grandchild is a girl....are you listening to me? Lila? Hannah?

Selfie of me and the cat

Karl, the cat with someone who loves him a lot.
I love this cat. He's the last of the original Fantastic Four. Kitty Boy Jones, a buff tabby, was killed soon after we moved to Chatham County. I think the neighbors dog got him. Then Squeaky (aka Kitty Girl) died--probably of old age. She was a wonderful cat, a tortoise shell calico. Wally Crawford (grey tabby) had some sort of gastro-intestinal issues and started losing weight. He got progressively sicker and we finally had to have him put down. So sad. So that leaves Karl, the only one of Higgid's kittens that we kept. We've had several other cats come and go, but these 4 are very special. I realize I am in serious danger of becoming a crazy cat lady. Not to worry! I have 2 dogs as well. SPREAD THE LOVE!
